RED THREAD from New York to Palermo is a series of images showing the duality of two worlds: New York and Palermo. After completing a residency in Palermo, Sicily with PBJ, the work was then developed and printed in a darkroom in Milan. The sequence is an expansion of a previous work, Ideas of Reference (2022), when an individual believes everything in the world is happening in relation to themselves.

Deja Vu Is literally translated from French to mean "already seen." This was a feeling I experienced often during my early trips through Asia. From walking along train tracks In Setagaya , to waiting on the side of the road for the 360 bus to Jamsil, there seemed to be so many familiar places In these foreign countries . Now having traveled to Asia so many times over the past 8 years, certain cities have become etched in my mind. Although the people and places are all too familiar now, this collection of photos from my first few trips to Asia remind me of a time when It was hard to distinguish what was new from what was Deja Vu.

ARC 1 is a chapter within a broader story, the interlude between sunshine and the storm. Like the images shot in Hakone — a rural village outside of Tokyo — in the aftermath of a typhoon, the collection triggers a multitude of emotions, pulling you to flip page after page nonstop, thirsty for what’s next.
This book is an outside perspective on a mysterious country — spiritual and mesmerizing — shot by a curious mind on a quest to document his journey.
Cues from Kristian’s life, his upbringing in Florida and rawness of his New York era can be picked up through the stark reality of this visual series.
Through his camera — a Ricoh GR1V — we are shown an unspoken side of Japan. A side full of chiaroscuros, coarse graffiti and mischievous night creatures. Never posed, always spontaneous, sometimes lewd. Never vapid."
